2. Navigation & Interface

X-Sheets organizes your work around a top app bar, a spreadsheet selector, and three view modes: Grid, List, and Form.

2.1 App Bar

The top bar is visible on main screen and contains the following elements (left to right):

Element Description
Spreadsheet Dropdown Shows the currently open spreadsheet name. Tap to switch between your spreadsheets.
Search Icon Opens the search/browse dialog to find a spreadsheet.
Create New (+) Opens the Create New Spreadsheet dialog.
Settings Icon Opens the Settings page (account, subscription, app info).
Synchronization Icon Opens the synchronization page for the selected spreadsheet.

2.2 Spreadsheet Context Menu

Tap the three-dot menu (or equivalent popup trigger) on the current spreadsheet to access these actions:

For Admins & Owners

  • Manage Data — Open the grid-based data editor.
  • Manage Views — Configure list and form views.
  • Edit Properties — Change name, description, or owner.
  • Share Spreadsheet — Manage user permissions.
  • Manage Versions — Access version history.

For All Users

  • Make a Copy — Duplicate the spreadsheet.
  • Close — Close the current spreadsheet.

Owner Only

  • Delete — Permanently delete the spreadsheet (requires confirmation).

2.3 View Modes

X-Sheets provides three ways to interact with your data. You switch between them using the view tabs or navigation within the app:

Grid View Bulk editing, column management Traditional spreadsheet grid. See Data Editor.
List View Browsing and searching Card-based list with search, sort, and swipe-to-delete.
Form View Detailed record editing One record at a time with full validation. See Forms.

2.4 Switching Spreadsheets

You can switch between spreadsheets in two ways:

  1. Dropdown selector — Tap the spreadsheet name in the app bar and select another from the list.
  2. Search — Tap the search icon in the app bar to browse all spreadsheets you have access to.
